Mimi da Masala, Colorado native, fell in love with hip-hop at a young age. After experimenting with several elements, she finally found her true love in djing. In 2007 she started her career by becoming apart of one of the first annual female based art collective events in Colorado called Femme Fatale. This event represented female talents from art, emcees, dj’s, b-girls, fashion and more. Holding down her 3rd year with Queenz of Hip-Hop, she continues to support the women in her community. She’s self taught and still learning and influenced by everyone she comes in contact with, from local to worldwide. Mimi naturally gravitated towards other local dj’s in the scene where she was able to find KGNU’s Eclipse show. On air every Sunday night since 1978, the Eclipse has the legacy as the longest running hip-hop radio show. She’s one of few women to ever hold down a resident spot among of crew of veterans.
